CUERO

The quartet was founded in 2022. The four members Martina Greiner, Federico Gómez, Ignacio Santos and Emilio Cossani share a long musical career, marked by an interest in tango. The group is based in the cultural manifesto of Tango Nuevo, also known as the New Golden Era. The fundamental task here is to compose new works, avoiding the repetition of old pieces and proposing new music and lyrics within the genre.

The city of Buenos Aires is crazy. Argentina (like the whole world?) is at a turning point in its history. Antagonistic forms and sounds coexist and inspire the quartet.

Their formation, rather unusual in this genre, brings new textures to the tradition, but always with the intention that distinguishes contemporary tango: the representation of the present.

Currently, after their European tour in 2024, CUERO is preparing their new material to be presented in the city of Buenos Aires and in the next year in different concert halls and milongas in Europe.
